Make-up lesson Policy

Dear Student / Parent:

I encourage my students to maintain a high level of commitment, consistency, and timeliness in their language learning to maximize their growth and development. However, I understand that certain circumstances may make it unavoidable to miss a lesson.

To address this, I have established a Make-Up Lesson Policy that aims to be fair to both my students and myself, considering factors such as preparation, availability, and time. Although we cannot guarantee make-up lessons for every individual or group session due to the number of students, this policy is designed to be as equitable as possible for all parties involved.

Please make sure to be on time for your virtual or in-person sessions.

Absences/Sick days (Individual Lessons)

Make-up lessons will be given, based on the number of paid lessons, at no additional charge. There are no refunds for missed lessons.

Please call/email/text at least 24 hours before class time to let us know if you / your child will not be attending the lesson.

If you cancel a lesson with less than 24 hours’ notice, you will be charged for that lesson, and make-up will not be given.

1-5 paid classes: No make-up lesson

6-19 paid classes: 1 make-up lesson

20-35+ paid classes: 2 make-up lessons

Absences/Sick days (Group Lessons)

Make-up lessons will not be provided unless the cancellation affects the entire group. We allow a maximum of two make-up lessons for every 21 lessons or more.

We will do our best to schedule a make-up session during the same week, or at a later time if needed.

Please call, email, or text us at least 24 hours before the class time to inform us if you or your child will not be attending the lesson.

Lesson Cancellation

There may be rare occasions when we cannot find a substitute for a last-minute situation, or extreme weather may force us to cancel a class. If we are aware of this in advance, we will provide you with at least 24 hours' notice. In the event of a last-minute decision, we will contact you by phone and email to schedule a make-up lesson. Please note that refunds will not be issued.

An Instructor/Student Being Late

  • Online instructors will wait for a student for 5 minutes and send a reminder via text or email. If there is no response from the student, the instructor will wait an additional 10 minutes. If the student still does not show up, the lesson will be considered over, and the instructor will leave the session. The student will be charged for the lesson, and rescheduling will not be an option.

  • In-person instructors are expected to arrive on time or 5 minutes early. If the instructor is late, the student will receive a call or message. The lesson will take place once the instructor arrives, or the session may be rescheduled at no additional cost.

Holiday Classes

If your class coincides with a holiday, we may offer lessons if our instructors have openings.

Expire/Transfer Lessons

If you have remaining sessions in your package that you haven't scheduled, please note that they will expire two months after your last session. To avoid losing these sessions, you have the option to transfer them to someone else at any time. However, the person receiving the transferred sessions must contact us within two months to schedule the lessons. Please be aware that there are no refunds for unused sessions; if they are not scheduled or transferred, they will be lost.

*Restrictions apply based on the level of the new student.
