Viviana Bolívar
I am a trained psychologist and understand that effective communication is essential. Learning a new language opens up a world of possibilities; it allows us to connect with more people globally and fosters a deeper understanding of different cultures.
My experience at a Spanish immersion elementary school has equipped me with strategies to develop my teaching style. I have found that comprehensible input is a key approach for effectively teaching a diverse student population. Instead of relying on a single method, I recognize that not all students learn in the same way.
This understanding has made me realize that psychology and education must go hand in hand, which has been a significant advantage in my role as an educator. By connecting with my students and recognizing their individual needs, I understand that learning is a process that involves many aspects.

I’m the founder and lead instructor of Spanish In Town. I am a native Spanish speaker from Colombia, and a full-time instructor who makes a living teaching my beautiful language.
I have always been captivated by grammar, nuances, slang, and uncommon words. As a child and young adult, I enjoyed playing with language. My father and I loved completing crosswords together. We also made a game out of spotting language mistakes in the news and newspapers. Over time, I realized that my native Spanish is a rich and beautiful language, and it became my passion to share it with others.
Learning a language is not simple; it requires motivation, dedication, and perseverance. However, it is a wonderful accomplishment to gain the ability to express yourself in another language. It is possible, and I would love to help you get there.
